MORT is an artist with diverse influences. He is inspired by Japanese anime, American cartoons, skateboarding, pop culture and many other sources. Essentially, MORT’s practice consists of decontextualizing his various references and reconstructing them around a new narrative scheme. His works are figurative with an interest in abstraction that is reflected in his sensitivity to composition. In his production, technique is always in the foreground. MORT is constantly looking for new elements, forms and colours that will help his visual language and the maturity of his compositions evolve.
