Les Fleurs Sont Partout
Unveiled in September 2023, ‘Les fleurs sont partout’ (Flowers are Everywhere) is an art installation made up of giant steel metallic flowers, standing over 45 feet tall, imagined and designed by Montreal visual artist LeBicar. Manufactured by Elephant Play and illuminated by the expertise of Lucion Media, the intent behind the flowers is to remind people to stop and notice the beauty and goodness in the little things around us, no matter the weather or season.
The blossoming metal flowers are accompanied by an AR project to enhance the physical experience. This interactive installation is the first in a series of activations that are part of 'J'aime travailler au centre-ville' (I love working downtown)—an initiative by the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Montreal, made possible thanks to the support of the Ministère de l’Économie et de l’Innovation, whose mission is to accelerate the revival of downtown Montreal.
"My work with flowers is based on a quote from Henri Matisse who said, ‘There are flowers everywhere for those who want to see them,’” says LeBicar. “To me, these flowers are a very powerful symbol, a celebration of resilience. I hope they will revive the eclectic and diverse downtown in their own way. Keep your eyes open, flowers are everywhere!”
