AN EXPRESSIVE STYLE BETWEEN HUMOR, COLOR AND REFLECTION.
Ivan Peev is an illustrator and graphic designer, he works and lives in Paris. He works in several fields such as music, catering, fashion, the press.. His universe is based on the constant search for ideas/concepts with ironic, critical or humorous messages that he illustrates through various mediums that he constantly explores: digital, painting, watercolor.. Parallel to that, he has been developing two characters for 8 years - Travis and Mina - which he stages on illustrations or larger projects like collaborations with brands. These two characters convey full of values such as equality, love, friendship. He develops with these characters a colorful, joyful, naive graphic language but also more realistic within the framework of specific projects (exhibitions...). Ivan has been working for several years for different clients such as Levi’s, Nike, Undiz, Adidas, Spotify, BackMarket, Daroco, Warner Music France.
What are your core values?
Respect everyone’s visions, stay calm in the face of the best or worst situations. Conveying joy, humor and remaining humble regarding my work are very important values. I always try to keep this guideline when I work on different types of projects: whether they are small-scale projects or large collaborations.
What does your dream project look like?
My dream project would be to have a 3D installation with the likeness of my two Travis & Mina characters. Unveil a strong message in the urban landscape of a city or another place. (And also make a cover for the New Yorker or work on a project with in luxury...!)
Describe your work in one sentence.
The constant search for a humorous, satirical or critical message highlighted by colorful illustrations, which mix lots of situations with characters of all kinds.
What would you like to be recognized for?
To be able to convey my thoughts/messages on a larger scale to reach as many people as possible and spark questions, exchanges, or simply conversations around my different works.
