Cavolo's art is all about stories, characters and their experiences across time lorem ipsum.
Ricardo Cavolo is a Spanish artist based in sunny Barcelona. His eclectic international style is based on relationships with folk art, traditional and modern tattoo culture, european religious imagery and the tribal arts.
Born in his father’s painting studio in Spain and brought up in a world of painting, drawing and colour, effectively with an Art Teacher at home, Ricardo Cavolo was destined for a life centred around pictures! He studied Fine Arts at University and became Art Director at several advertising agencies before realising that his distinct, colourful tattooed beings and iconography should be shown to the world and now works as a professional illustrator, living in Brighton.
What are your core values?
Inclusivity, freedom, and authenticity. I believe in creating spaces where everyone feels seen, free to express themselves, and true to who they are.
What does your dream project look like?
Bringing people together. Whether through small, playful creations like banana stickers or monumental sculptures, my goal is to ignite and share an inner fire in everyone. I want my work to remind us that borders and barriers are human inventions, and that, at our core, we are all connected.
Describe your work in one sentence.
Empowering people to move beyond trauma through light, emotion, and connection.
What would you like to be recognized for?
For spreading the fire, the spark that inspires change in thoughts, lives, and communities, uniting people despite their differences.
What impact does your artistic practice have?
I feel incredibly grateful for how my work has resonated with others; it’s something I never expected. Even though my art comes from a deeply personal place, seeing it tattooed or cherished by others reminds me of its universal thread: to be human is to be imperfect, vulnerable, yet driven by an inner fire that connects us all.
